All these opinions were approved in October 2016 by a large majority of Members of the ITRE Committee, which is good news for both industry and consumers.

According to Pavel Telicka, it was it was important to focus on unification of the methodology for data collection, on mandatory standards for electrical and electronic waste treatment, and also on dealing with waste shipments within the EU. And to strengthen current legislation. And it also succeeded: agreement on better and Interinstitutional law-making approved, mandatory standards for the treatment of electrical and electronic waste and simplified shipment of waste within the EU and other important points are mentioned in the text.
